ABIDE - Amagara Bible Institute of Discipleship & Evangelism
We opened the first ABIDE program April 1st, 2008 with five Ugandan students and two US interns. We graduated them in August as a powerful team of men equipped with the passion and skills to serve Christ where ever they go in life. They are now in University, Bible schools, starting small businesses and continuing to serve in their churches. ABIDE was a total success. Listen to one of the testimonies from a student. The second round of high school graduates are currently being selected and invited to join the next year's six month program to seek God, develop leadership skills and engage in ministry. It includes outdoor adventures, challenge course and team building activities, school placement, classroom study and supervised ministry outreach.
It is wonderful to have begun this new program of equipping students in Christ to do the work of God in all aspects of life (Eph 4:16). "My passion is to see Christ transform students. And I feel that this is the most fulfilling and effective ministry I have ever had in Uganda. I know that God is going to use the ABIDE students to change Uganda!" Matt Kehn, ABIDE director. We are building our own ABIDE home at Juna Amagara Ministries - Mbarara. A total of $30,000 will complete construction for the next school session by February 2009.
